Their bagels are normal sized (unlike many of the gigantic ones out there today) and not too dense. Now if only we can get a branch in midtown. It's kind of "pulled" instead of sliced. They also do whitefish salad. And yes, Ess-A-Bagel does FANTASTIC whitefish salad and NO they do not have a toaster. Goddamn I miss that place. There's an Ess-a-Bagel nearby on 1st Ave that has hot bagels coming out of the oven throughout the day. I don't even think they have a toaster since real New Yorkers don't toast their bagels. I used to have the Whitefish salad there all the time when I lived in the neighborhood and remembered it being very creamy and non-fishy tasting.
