Free Hot Chocolate Tasting Alert!
Yesterday, Brownie and I happened upon this free hot chocolate tasting in the Rock Center concourse, in front of the ice skating rink. All the Rock Center chocolatiers are represented: Jacques Torres, Bouchon, La Maison du Chocolat, and Godiva. Each is handing out little samples of their hot chocolate, gratis of course.
La Maison is the only one handing out two versions, their “Dark and Robust” and “Silky and Smooth.” Apparently, it’s one sample per person, so we each got one and Brownie gave me hers. If you find yourself in need of making a decision between the two, go for “Silky and Smooth” as “Dark and Robust” is thinner than Angelina. The tasting’s only going on until 5pm today, so run on down during your lunch break (or now.)

Sounds like a great Leap Day celebration in New York! Also sounds like the perfect thing to have on a day when the snow is flying in Manhattan. Wish we could get over there to sample some cocoa. We just might make it.

Jacques Torres was serving a frozen hot chocolate (pretty good). Out of the “hot” chocolates, I liked Bouchon the best !
