Gobbling Pizza by Cer Te’s Thanksgiving Pie

Last week, Rachel announced the launch of Pizza by Certe’s Thanksgiving Pizza special featuring turkey meatballs, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, butternut squash, and cranberries ($3.95 + tax). To be honest I was a little skeptical, but I headed over to check it out anyway, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

While the flavors in this did not necessarily conjure traditional Thanksgiving images in my mind, the turkey meatballs were well seasoned and I actually really enjoyed the mashed potatoes and gravy, absolutely not something I would have considered a delicious pizza topping previously. I would have liked a few more cranberries though, to break up the savoriness of the other toppings.

Since I was clearly craving some sweets, I capped off the meal with a blueberry ricotta mini-calzone ($1.10 + tax).

This was amazing. I heated it up in my office microwave (I’m sure they’d do it for you there if you asked, but it didn’t occur to me until later) and the gooey sweet blueberry-ricotta filling was oozing out of the crepe-like pastry. So. Good.

So if you can’t wait another week for a Thanksgiving meal, Pizza by Cer Te can give you a little sneak peek without ruining your appetite for the real deal.
