Borek Specialist Djerdan to Become Da’ Guilio Two

Photo and tip courtesy of @cardamond

Nino’s isn’t the only sad news today… borek specialist Djerdan (on 38th btw. 7+8th) has closed, and is being replaced by a second location of Da Giulio. The Djerdan website confirms that the location has been taken over by new owners, but implies that you will still be able to get your borek on. Seems unlikely, though, looking at the menu from the original Da Giulio on Lex btw. 30+31st. Huge fans can still head out to one of Djerdan’s other locations in Astoria, Brooklyn, Jersey and, soon, the Bronx.

  • am I the only one who is sad about this?

  • Thanks for the concern and support from everyone that used to come here for lunch! Yes, the new place will serve some of our specialties such as Burek and Cevapi and couple of other things. The New owner is a good friend and we are working together to keep some of the dishes from before. As for burek he will have exactly the same as we did, we have a central kitchen where all the Bureks are made so they are exactly the same in all Djerdans and will be here as well.

We are opening up a small location in Lower East Side in about a month or so.
We also will cater to the city from our Astoria Location just call us a bit in advance. Call 888-GO-BUREK with any questions I will be more then happy to address any concerns…
THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THAT SUPPORTED US ALL 8 YEARS
