Tri Tip Launches Wednesday Chicken Caesar Wrap Steal
Midtownlunch perennial favorite, Tri Tip Grill, has always been a crowd pleasing (but posh) lunch time treat. However, they’ve shown an aptitude for off-setting lunchtime splurges with daily specials, such as the infamous Tri Tip Tuesday. And recently, they’ve introduced a new weekly Wednesday deal – a chicken Caesar wrap with a 12oz soup and drink for $9.99. Considering that these components would add up to around $15 piecemeal, it’s a tempting proposition.
They offer three soups on a daily basis, with French Onion as the anchor and the other two as wild cards. On my visit, it was cream of mushroom and chicken tortilla – I chose the latter and was quite pleased with the exceptionally chunky and hearty riff on chicken noodle soup. On the other hand, I wasn’t blown away by the chicken Caesar wrap, which feels like a forced menu item amongst Tri-Tip’s expertise at red meat. There’s a certain mass-produced quality to the dish – the wrap too doughy, the lettuce too flimsy, and the chicken too sparse. But a deal’s a deal, and for folks that can’t or won’t eat beef, this lunch special is a steal.

Perennial? It hasn’t been open a year yet.
