Cer Te Introduces New Duck Sandwich Today
Last month Cer Te (on 55th btw. 5+6th) launched a contest to design one of their special monthly sandwiches, and the first one debuts today. The duck sandwich with cilantro, a bit of hoisin sauce and a dab of chili, topped with cucumber and pickled radish strips was created by Lunch’er Cindy (aka ChubbyChineseGirl) and she got a special preview of her creation on Friday. Naturally she gave it a 5 star review, but we’re curious to hear what you unbiased lunch’ers think (and how it stacks up to the duck pastrami sandwich from FreeFoods NYC.) Early adopters, let us know in the comments. The sandwich costs $8.95, and will be available Monday through Friday until the end of the month.

We won’t be delivering this sandwich either for two reasons, we wouldn’t be able to charge $8.95 if we delivered it as it is a great deal for a duck sandwich, also all of the components wouldn’t hold that well in delivery. We hope you are able to come in and try it!

I am just finishing the last morsel of the Chubby Chinese Girl sandwich and I have to say it is a 5/5! This is a sweet/sour/spicey piece of heaven :)

Wow. Really delicious. Certe did a great job with the execution of this one. Makes me think they’d put together a great banh mi.

I tried it yesterday. It was pretty good! It’s not very ducky in flavor. There were three nice pieces of duck breast. The toppings that are added to the sandwich add a lot of flavor.
BTW, the guys working at Certe always laugh when someone asks for the “chubby chinese girl.”
Yum!! Are they delivering this? I know that they weren’t delivering the last special sandwich I ordered (softshell crab).
