Wow-that's great stuff! I had the chicken gyro and I don't like it too spicy. It was the best gyro I've ever had! I like how they will accommodate individual tastes. How come no one has commented on how ridiculously hot the tall guy is? As if great food isn't enough of an incentive! I wonder if he delivers :)

Me too! This looks great! Last Friday, I noticed they were still out there at 7:30 p.m. I wonder if they stay out that late every night, or even later maybe? That could be pretty convenient for some of us.

I went today. Got the combo, had some chicken some lamb maybe some kofta in there, yellow rice, chic peas, black beans, yeah, the whole thing. I asked for minimal white sauce and extra hot sauce. The guy warned me, "It's really hot!" He dumped a ton on there. And it was HOT! Very, very good all around, especially for 5 bucks, except for the one chicken chunk I got that was... well not quite raw, but not cooked either. Ugh. Feeling a bit queasy now. And I wish there wasn't any hot sauce on the salad, either, but that's just quibbling...

Eating the falafel over rice right now... it's head and shoulders above the competition around Herald Square.

The mixed rice (which they gave me without me asking) is amazing, so much better than the bland stuff you get at other carts. Very well spiced and compliments the falafel. The falafel is fresh cooked and not too hard and the hot sauce is excellent (was about to say I'll get more next time, but it's a slow burner, my mouth is still feeling it!) Only complaint is that the salad is a little weak, just cucumber, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Best rice, best falafel, best hot sauce, plus beans!!! (god I love beans) Sorry Pyramid Halal, you have been usurped.

I never heard of harissa until Sunday when I was watching the Next Food Network Star - one of the finalists gave a presentation about harissa and cooked a sandwich with it. They said that it is an African sauce.
