all i can say is that a co-worker and i just went to Men Kui Tei……and it was absolutely awesome. The cold noodles really made this humid day pleasant and deal-withable. Not to mention they were delicious. We got there right a 12:30 and the place was packed. As we ate a line formed out the door….all the food that was going to tables around us looked great.

btw…. if you ever venture out to Palisades Park (NJ).. check out Yoo Chun..

They specialize in a particular type of naengmyeon called “Chilk Naengmyeon”.. (not sure how they spell it on their menu)… In any case… it’s delicious and better than any naengmyeon you’ll find in Manhattan. I think Flushing might have a spot.. but I’ve only been to the one in Pal Park… and it’s awesome..

I’m pretty sure all spots (or at least most) on 32nd street serve their naengmyeon all year round (both versions, bi bim and mool)

Don’t forget that Menkui also offers a great Jar Jar Men (cold spicy pork paste sauce) year round

Great post!! Somen is one of my all time favorite summer dishes. Never tried naengmyeon though. What’s the difference?
