btw, the japanese restaurant next door to hagi – Iroha – is decent and is now offering a great happy hour deal. i believe $15 pitchers of sapporo and $3/$4 rolls and apps

- for those of you who might have to wait before going to hagi, this is a great place to wait and have some beers

the eel i s great – usually runs out unless you are there early. it was just a daily special, but now its a staple on the menu.

the miso eggplant is also highly recommended

Sometimes, they have a sea urchin special. Spiny foie gras of the sea…

Was there last Saturday – really enjoyed the yellowtail collar, kara-age (fried chicken with grated daikon), okonomyaki and pork belly with garlic shoots.

I went to a yakitori place in Japan and ordered an assorted plate of yakitori and surprisingly the only thing I could eat were the gizzards. I do not know where they found the parts of chicken they were grilling but it was scary.
