Patsy’s on 56th street for great lasagna.

For great southern food, try Miss Mamie’s up on 110th street. It’s soul food, but to me soul food is just southern food that tastes better.

She’s the first Tuesday Freak that’s been attractive and unpretentious in ages. There is hope for Midtownkind after all. I have worked in midtown for the better part of ~15 years and have never purchased pasta for lunch. It’s a very time and temperature sensitive food. It also seems to be the most marked up of foods. Maybe cold dishes fare better, but I can not suffer overcooked pasta. I would rather undercook it myself and nuke the pasta separately from the sauce.

Casa, you might have already tried it and decided it’s not worth it, but just in case: I think Pepe Rosso down in the Grand Central Food Court is decent. They cook it to order. I can’t remember if it’s under $10 bucks but their vodka sauce stuff is pretty decent. It’s no fancy restaurant pasta dish, by any means, but it definitely hits the right spot when in need of a carb fix.
