NYT Recommends Midtown Lunches to Tourists

This weekend the New York Times did a roundup of places to eat in the West 50s for people visiting Fifth Avenue, the Rock Center X-Mas Tree, and MOMA. They recommended Danku (on 57 btw. 5+6th), Menchanko Tei (on 55th btw. 5+6th), and Pop Burger (on 58th btw. Mad+5th). I think I speak for everyone here when I say SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… don’t ruin our lunch spots. Those people seem perfectly happy at Sbarro’s.

  • No, No, please send the tourists to Pop Burger. Maybe we can fool them into thinking it is better than burger joint?

  • I’m not sure the tourists will have time to visit any of these lunch spots, as they spend the bulk of their time in the McDonalds next to my building.

  • Now, y’all… I’ll be the tourist standing next to you in line at your favorite lunch spot the week of the Dec. 29th- bet you won’t even notice. Some of us are less obnoxious than others! :)

  • I, for one, applaud tourists who are clever/resourceful enough to track down good eats when they’re in town (which does not include Pop Burger by any stretch of the imagination).

New Yorkers who are content to eat shitty, boring food are far more offensive than tourists with good taste, if you ask me.
