I just tried Rickshaw for the first time. I love dumplings – even ones that aren’t very good – but these are quite simply awful. I got the shrimp but you’d never know it because the flavor is so bland. One of them had something unpleasantly crunchy in it, perhaps a piece of shrimp shell (I hope it wasn’t something wrose than that). The wrapper is glutinous and stretchy. I was hungry so I choked down 3 of them but I threw the other 3 out. Although I read midtown lunch frequently I have never registered to comment until now – these things were so damn bad that I had to speak up.

Good dumplings are not supposed to have thick wrappers! The thickness of the wrap is an indication of how good the dumpling is…now i want to try some!

I’ve tried the dumplings from the store on 23rd street and couldn’t agree more with all who say that the dumplings are inedible!!

Speaking of Hing Won… didja notice the prices finally went up (about 50 cents on average)?

Still a WAY better deal than an expensive, crappy dumpling truck, of course.

don’t hate on rickshaw cause the dumplings are expensive.

hate on rickshaw because the dumpligs are INEDIBLE. Gross.

Agreed, the dumplings alone are not enough. But the additional side should do it.

I love to eat, but have learned to eat with proper portion size and calorie intake in mind. Those 2 things don’t always work well with my love of food (totally different thread).

Oh Shangri-la Cart, with 8 giant Momo’s (Himalayan dumplings) for $5, why are you not in midtown. (actually, when I asked the guys who run the cart in Jackson Heights, they said they can serve the Tibetan community better on 74th Ave, guess I can’t argue with that).
