Definitely try the paani puri, that's the quintessential street food from Pakistan and India. Especially since they make it for you one by one and hand them off back home (not Stateside though).

I tried #14 today.. The Cumin Batata Vada. Sortof like a cross between a samosa and a pakora..The plate included four of these tennis ball sized things stuffed with a light green potato (batata?) based filling. Served with chopped raw onion, green and tamarind sauce on the side (sorry I forget what they are called..the common condiments you get..)
Overall pretty great although I am a sucker for crunchy things so I will have to try the Chat combo again.
Ive tried to order the cheese cashew pakoras three times and he is always out!!

Finally got a combo plate today. So much food, such good quality. The guy just loaded the plate up with random stuff without asking me and then handed it to me. PUMPED.

"Chatpati" means spicy/tangy. The flavor of pretty much every chaat could be described as chatpati/chatpata. I'm not an expert on etymology, but "chaat" and "chatpata" might share the same root. Chaat might mean "stuff that's chatpata." But I'm not sure on that one.

So it's supposed to be "chatpati." I've never heard of chapatis being incorporated into a chaat . . . sounds like it would be a really bad idea.

This is such a great help! I've been twice, but both times it's been so spicy i couldn't finish my lunch. Could someone tell me how to order it mild?
