How has no one mentioned Shih Lee on 45th between 1st and 2nd? They have very good oxtail, general tso chkn, beef tendons, spinach, and eggplant. Not your typical chinese food spot but beats the pants off of alot of the places mentioned on here in my opinion. Its as close to real chinese as I have had in midtown.

I'll take the $7 lunch special at Szechwan Gourmet over any of these cheap Chinese places. Szechwan Gourmet might be one of the 2-3 best Chinese restaurants in Manhattan.
