My family’s from Gujarat. While most of the dishes are similar to what you’d get in that region (and a lot of the other items on their menu are too), they also serve some more North Indian vegetarian items like mattar paneer (peas and paneer in cream sauce) and shahi rajma (kidney beans in a spicy sauce).

The deal is you get a few pieces of roti (bread), rice, daal (lentil soup), 2 vegetables and bhajia (fried, chick pea flour battered veggie fritters) for $6 including tax.

“Gujarati” is actually a type of Indian food, from the Gujarat region, that is mostly vegetarian. The place they are talking about is the Indian food out of a newstand, on 6th Ave. btw. 37+38th.

Indian food is my fave in the world.Unfortunately they also do the worlds best veggie food(onlt time you’ll ever see me use veggie & best in same sentance.

Indian chefs stop the veggies, it only encourages them.

The Gujarati food place is pretty authentic and amazingly cheap for all the food they give you. Not for everyone, but its a good deal for vegetarians out there…
