Dee - I love Kati Roll as much as the next pseudonymous Midtown Luncher of the Week, but Kati Roll up and left Lil' Brazil. Do you really have to rub it in?

I work right near Little Brazil and none of those places are so good for lunch unless you're looking to sit for table service. Ipanema is my favorite for after work as they have great food and the best Caipirinhas, hands down.

46th has a wealth of "sit down around 20$" meals

Argentine Pavilion's mixed grill is very nice

Either Emporium Brasil or Via Brasil has a glass case in the front full of little Brazilian pastries that could make the 10$ cut easily, and both have lots of good around 20$ meals.

Tequilizado has Columbian food, and their Plato Tipico (or whatever they call it) is a belly full of goodness.

ddr- you must check out emporium brazil. one of our favorite places in the whole city. the beef stew with butternut squash & chicken stroganoff are my favorites. plus all the rice & beans you can handle. a bit on the pricey side (at least for dinner when i've been there) with entrees $15-25. but very generous portions and totally worth it. my coworker recently told me about another place, the argentine pavilion but i haven't made it there yet. enjoy!
