I've actually never sat down at this place, but gotten the to-go buffet or something from the chaat corner. Although deelish (and being another fat guy, I've mostly stayed below the $11 mark and been satisfied), I'll agree that the service is horrible.

It's not an understaffing issue in my case as much as it is how rude they are. I'm a Pakistani with heritage from north and south India, so I know what I like and how I want certain things. Ask them to do something differently (especially on chaat), and the lady behind the counter will give you an evil eye and ask about 3 or 4 times if you're sure. She's also very brusque when calling people up to pay.

I have the same question, how exactly is lack of meat a NEGATIVE, especially in a VEGETARIAN restaurant? Duh. Many non-vegetarians don't eat meat at every meal. Oh boo hoo, no meat what to do to? Please.

I just ate at Sukhadia today for lunch and was not impressed. Watery dal, tasteless sag paneer. One good mixed vegetable dish, the rest not good. I won't return.

Sukhadia's is a place my both husband and I frequent because of its proximity to work. If you are vegetarian this is a safe bet, but it gets boring after a couple of times, the menu does not change and flavours are a little bland(lot of canned/frozen vegges and heavy cream used). We love the masala chai though..great to take a cup back to work...

I got a plate of the take out food and found many of the dishes to be really sweet. Off-puttingly so. If it wasn't for that I would have found the food delicious. Except for one thing: there was a spinach dish with paneer so rich and fresh tasting, but the spinach itself had that slimy canned taste. Obviously that dish is not normally made with fresh spinach, but somehow this version managed to scream, I came from a can!

check out restaurant.com for discounts on this place. They just added it. You can get $10 certificates printable on your computer for $3. There are specials throughout the year- like last week you could get $25 gift certificate here for $3! wow!

I went to Sukhadia years ago and finally went back yesterday for the sit down lunch buffet. It was delicious! Everything was fresh, not greasy or heavy, and the flavors were good. By that I mean not overly spicy or bland, just right.

I admit that I don't know the names of anything, but there was yellow dal, another yellow sauce dish with chickpeas and served with little fried balls/patties that had peas in them, a variety of vegetable dishes, and small fried potato balls (that I think had coconut in them?). The dish that had paneer (cheese cubes) was also really good and their paneer is perfect, with a hint of lemon. The rice was great (not dried out like a lot of buffets), and the naan was brought out fresh and hot regularly so it wasn't soggy. They also had a few sweets and some rice snacks on the buffet and masala chai.

All in all definitely worth the $11 (with tax and tip it's more like $13).
