Just had a Cuban sandwich and a side of sweet plantains. Absolutely fantastic - and this is my new favorite Cuban (or Dominican) restaurant! The nice girl behind the counter also gave me a sample of the octopus salad which was out-of-this-world. I will definitely be having that next time too. Two people from my office came over drooling at the site of my lunch, and tried running over there, but the line was crazy. Thanks ML!

You definitely missed out because I started doing something after I saw one of my co-workers do it. When you get the rotisserie chicken, ask for extra chicken grease to be poured over the rice... *phenomenal*!!!

[...] Margon(Midtown Lunch Readers’ Poll Choice for Best Latin Food) will be in attendance, as will honorary Midtown Lunch, Tiffin Wallah (if only it was a few blocks farther North). Plus, I’m pretty sure Albert’s Mofongo House, located in Inwood, is connected in some way to the International Food House Buffet on 35th btw. 7+8th.
[...] Place you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch: I know it’s been said before on other profiles, but I have to go with Margon. I was born and raised in Miami and know good Cuban food, but having this place a few blocks away has definitely made the transition to New York easier this past year. Their staples are great, but I have to highly recommend their guanabana batido (a smoothie made with guanabana nectar and milk). If you’ve never had guanabana before, you’re in for a treat. [...]
