I've eaten a lot of burgers in my time and am from CA so I know In N Out REALLY well, especially the double double with grilled onions and chocolate shake. MMMMMMMMMMMM!
I have to say, though, that the cheeseburger that I had at Burger Joint last night was the best burger I've ever eaten. Perhaps the grill-masters were in a particular state of zen or something, but it was damn good and I was pissed off that I didn't order two of them (and I'm a little gal who eats like a bird in general). I'm also sad that I didn't think to order a shake, too.
The fries were yummy, too.
What the hell is that mustard that they put on these things? It's perfectly spicy and a pleasant surprise.
LOVE THE BURGERS and I don't think they're over-priced for NYC at all. I could have gone a million other places and spent much more for dinner.
Go eat these burgers. Yum!

I think that the burger is good, the fries come from McDonald's, and a coke is a coke no matter where you go. Worth the $13? I will let you decide.

We came here after seeing a story on the Travel Channel.
I loved the burger. I loved the fries. I loved the staff-they are cool kids and very efficient! This is New York: Make up your mind and order: WE ARE IN A HURRY. You people who don't like it just don't get it! It's New York, stupid! It's a snooty hotel a stones throw from Bergdorf's & Tiffany's with a simple burger joint behind a velvet curtain that serves the food of the people. It's so full of irony, I could scream. When in Rome....and when on the W.Coast-love the In n Out for being what it is....

Inflation hits midtown lunch where it hurts: Burger Joint prices increased as of 4/1/08. The full experience (cheeseburger, fries, soda) is now $13, up from $11.75.

Commenting on how The Burger Joint or any food in NYC is overpriced compared to CA or any other place in the country does not add anything to this thread. It's akin to saying it's cold in Antarctica or that they speak a lot of Spanish in Mexico.
