No wait, same great sauce! Least Favorite Kind of Food: Not sure it’s out there; I’m down- from sweetbreads to the funky chicken claw yakatori. Favorite Place to Eat Lunch in Midtown: Until recently it was the tasty marinated lamb at the Kwik Meal cart, dude’s full chef outfit lets you know he is a class act through and through. In response to Christopher’s comment, no one said you had to spend $7.50 at the cart. The falafel is $3.75. Chicken on pita is $4.25 and, while I’ll admit that the portions are on the small side for the price, it’s filling enough for me. Kwik Meal has the best pita I’ve found so far in Midtown, and their meat is very flavorful. I mean, with your $7.50 you could get a panini at a non-cart establishment or two falafels here. Which sounds more worth it?

This place should be disqualified from the “cart” category. If I wanna spend $7.50 on lunch, I’m not going to a cart! Cart = cheap. And this isn’t cheap. Someone should fill this guy in on that lil’ detail. AND the portions are so stingy. Sure it’s tasty — I had the lamb — but not worth it, not by a long shot.

I had a falafel for the first time at Kwik-Meal. I had no idea it would be so spicy! Are all falafels this spicy?

if you think that’s cheap and tasty i’ve got you beat. mamoun’s on west3rd and macdougal sells a $2 to die for. when i couldn’t afford food when i first moved to manhatten I ate mamouns for two meals a day. it’s totally worth it to stop by if your downtown. it’s also good and portable if you want to eat it in the park

Sometimes Kwik Meal has fish specials. The salmon is pretty good, but the grouper is awful. You can find more details on the Kwik Meal Wikipedia page.

The flavors at Kwik Meal can’t be beat, that’s for sure. But I was disappointed to find that the chicken quality was no better than the generic pita cart on 44th and 6th. Prawns or Lamb are the way to go at Kwik Meal.
